Sunday afternoon, welterweight DeMarques Johnson (14-8, 2-2 UFC) announced via his website that he'd take on fellow welterweight Mike Guymon (12-4-1, 1-2 UFC) at the Fort Hood event. Mike "Quick" Swick's recent medical issues had many wondering if the welterweight would ever be able to fight again after being misdiagnosed for several years with dyspepsia, a career-threatening illness. Swick (14-4, 9-3 UFC) appeared on HDNet's "Inside MMA" several months ago and discussed having violent allergic reactions to certain ingredients found in foods and spices, making the fighters throat swell and restricting his breathing. Since then, Swick has been properly diagnosed with esophageal spasm with acid reflux, a more treatable illness. Swick posted a YouTube video where he went over treatment options and with a new diet, could eventually lead to his return back to the Octagon. It appears that long-awaited day has finally arrived for Swick as he posted a hint via Facebook about a return to action in Fort Hood. "So there is a UFC Fight for the Troops event in Texas on January 22nd huh," said Swick. "Wonder who will fight on that card? Hmmm..." Swick did not name an opponent but it will be interesting to see who matchmaker Joe Silva decides will face Swick, who's coming off a two-fight losing streak. Swick is one of the more active fighters in supporting the troops, taking advantage of many of the UFC's oversea trips to visit military. With Swick being such an avid supporter of the military, it makes sense scheduling his return to the "Fight for the Troops" card. Swick also fought on the UFC's previous "Fight for the Troops" even with fellow teammate and welterweight contender Josh Koscheck. As the Fort Hood card has slowly developed, MMAFighting.com (www.mmafighting.com) reported a fight between heavyweights Matt Mitrione and Tim Hague is set as both fighters have reportedly signed bout agreements. Mitrione (3-0, 3-0 UFC) is a month removed form his win over Joey Beltran in front of Mitrione's home crowd in Indianapolis last September. The Jan. 22 fight will mark Hague's (12-4, 1-3 UFC) return to the UFC on a two-fight win-streak outside of the organization. With five fights now being known for the Fort Hood event, details on the remaining few bouts should be released in the next few weeks leading up to UFC 122 featuring Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami
